Coronary angiography AKA Coronary Angiogram; is a procedure that is used to see the flow of blood through the heart’s arteries. For this procedure a contrast material or special die is used before taking an x-ray or scan. A mild sedative will be given to the patient before the test to help him/her relax. This procedure is generally done with the help of the cardiac catheterization. Generally this procedure can last anywhere between half an hour to an hour.
Procedure:
The procedure is conducted under general anesthesia. For a mini facelift, sedation or local anesthesia may be applied. The surgeon makes an incision at the temple touching the hairline extending to the front of the ear behind the lobe and finally into the hair. An incision below the chin is made in case of neck lift. Excess skin and fatty tissues are removed. The surgeon then tightens the tissues and repositions the remaining facial skin.
The entire procedure may take 2-3 hours. You may have to stay in the hospital for 1-2 nights. The face will remain covered with bandages for a few days. You will feel a sore and swollen face initially. Pain relief medications are provided to ease the discomfort. The surgeon will provide due advice regarding post-operative care and quick recovery at home.
Typically, you need to be 1-2 weeks off from work. It will be 3 weeks if you also undergo blepharoplasty along with facelift. It is recommended to stay away from strenuous work for at least eight weeks. The swelling will subside within 12 weeks and the benefits of this cosmetic surgery will gradually show up.
